The Bide - Booking Terms & Conditions
The Bide Ltd (company no. 12990158), registered at 4th Floor Fitzrovia House, 153–157 Cleveland Street, London, England, W1T 6QW, trading as The Bide, operates two eco-cabins, The Bothy and The Nest in Milton Abbas, Dorset ("the cabins" / "the site"). By making a booking you agree to these Terms on behalf of everyone in your party.
Booking & Payment
A booking is confirmed only once we have received your deposit and sent written confirmation.
A deposit of 10% is payable at the time of booking. The balance is due 4 weeks before arrival. For bookings made within 4 weeks of arrival, the full amount is payable at the time of booking.
If the balance is not paid by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and apply the cancellation terms below.
Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
Cancellation & Refunds
If you need to cancel or amend, please tell us in writing as soon as possible.
Free cancellation within 48 hours of booking: if you cancel within 48 hours of the time your booking was made, you will receive a full refund.
More than 4 weeks before arrival: we will issue a credit note for the amount you have paid, which you can use to re-book any available dates. Credit notes must be redeemed within 12 months of issue.
Within 4 weeks of arrival: as the full balance is due by this point, no refund or credit note is given.
Amendments: you may amend your booking (for example, change your dates) free of charge up to 30 days before your check-in date, subject to availability.
We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance to cover cancellation.
Because we provide accommodation for specific dates, your booking is exempt from the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
In the unlikely event we have to cancel your booking (for example, circumstances beyond our control), we will offer alternative dates or a full refund of monies paid. Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us.
Arrival & Departure
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10.30am, unless otherwise agreed.
The maximum number of guests must not exceed the number stated on your booking.
Liability
We take reasonable care to keep the cabins and the marked areas of the site safe and well maintained. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The Bide sits within a working farm. Guests must keep to the cabin and the accessible routes marked in the welcome document; the wider working farm, including farm buildings, animals and machinery - is not open to guests. Even within the permitted areas, this is a rural setting with hazards such as uneven ground, water and nearby livestock, and guests use it at their own risk and are responsible for supervising children and any vulnerable members of their party at all times. Except where caused by our negligence, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from the rural setting or from any entry onto the working farm.
We recommend guests insure their belongings and keep the cabin and any vehicles secure. Except where caused by our negligence, we do not accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage to your personal property, including vehicles and their contents.
Damage & Negligence
Guests are responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing any damage or alteration to the cabin or site caused by them, other than fair wear and tear. We do not take a damage deposit, but reserve the right to charge for damage caused during your stay.
For fire safety, tea lights, candles and any other naked flames are strictly forbidden inside and outside the cabin. Breach may result in charges and, in serious cases, early termination of your stay without refund.
Fire Pits & Wood-Fired Hot Tub
Where a fire pit and/or wood-fired hot tub is provided, guests use them entirely at their own risk and must exercise care at all times. Please:
Never leave a lit fire pit or wood-fired hot tub unattended.
Keep children and vulnerable people supervised and at a safe distance whenever a fire is lit or the tub is in use.
Make yourself aware, on arrival, of the location of the fire extinguisher, fire blanket and water points, as set out in your welcome document.
Follow the operating and safety instructions provided, and only use the fuel supplied or approved by us.
Ensure fires are fully extinguished before going to bed or leaving the cabin.
Except where caused by our negligence, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from use of the fire pit or wood-fired hot tub.
Smoking
No smoking inside the cabin. Smoking is permitted outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts safely and tidily and do not litter the surrounding area. Evidence of smoking inside the cabin may incur a cleaning charge.
Children
We can accommodate babies, but you will need to bring your own travel cot. Given the farm setting, children must be supervised at all times, particularly around animals, water and farm areas.
Dogs
Unfortunately, due to the farm setting, we are unable to accommodate dogs.
Code of Conduct
Access to the farmhouse, gardens and dairy is strictly prohibited. Accessible routes are marked in your welcome document - please keep to them and be respectful of the farmer and the animals.
No music outside the cabin after 10pm.
Persistent or serious breach of this code may result in us ending your stay early without refund.
Complaints
We want you to enjoy your stay, so if something isn't right please tell us straight away by calling the number provided, or email hello@thebide.com, and we'll do our best to put it right.
Data & Privacy
We use the personal information you give us to process and manage your booking, to contact you about your stay, and unless you tell us otherwise, to let you know about similar services we offer. You can opt out of marketing at any time by emailing hello@thebide.com. We do not sell your data. Our booking and payment systems store your information securely and take reasonable measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss or damage. We keep your information only for as long as necessary for these purposes or as the law requires. We process your data in accordance with UK data protection law, and you have the right to access your data, ask us to correct it, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
General
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
